Renovations Continue

The floors in the 1955 will be replaced in the upcoming summer months. 
Delone Catholic has been undergoing many renovations, mainly done in the summer, so as not to interfere with student life and studies.

Last summer all bathrooms in the lobby area were completely remodeled complete with a new layout and fixtures; all made possible from the money donated through the Diamond Decade Initiative. 

These donations also ensured that the flooring in the 1955 wing could be removed during the summer of 2016, in order to prepare for future renovations.

During the summer of 2017 some more renovations will be underway. Delone Catholic will once again have a brand new look. Classrooms in the 1955 wing will be completely updated including flooring, light fixtures, and air conditioning. Each classroom with also be outfitted with interactive projectors, completing the technology updates for the entire school.

All the lockers will be like those found in the math and science hallways and renovations will also occur in the bathrooms in the wing as well.

Teachers and students alike are excited for the updates to occur.

“We’ve been patiently waiting for this next phase of renovations,” explained Ms. Duffy, English teacher. “I know the finished product will be fresh and well worth the wait.”


Renovations are set to begin immediately after the conclusion of the school year and should be completed in mid-August in time to begin the 2017-2018 school year with a new outlook and a renewed design.

A Clue As to Why Theatre is More Than Just An Extracurricular

 by Aubrey Dittmar '23 Why is theatre important? Senior Joey Chirillo is one of the best students to answer this question. Chirillo is the Delone Catholic Theatre Department’s Sound Director; he controls all of the sound effects you hear during the show along with all of the microphones. Joey had  no prior experience in theatre, but had prior experience working with sound. by Molly Stonesifer '24 Joy and Molly Stonesifer Students enter and exit the martial arts studio. Most of them recognize the two sisters leading the classes; one wears a red gi, the other in blue. The sisters smile and laugh with students, help the ones struggling, and guide the activities of the class. But none of the students know how they got there. How, years ago, they started as white belts in a small martial arts school inside Walmart. How they started to earn belts together and climb the ranks. How they earned Black Belt Club and started to train with weapons.  How they learned to stand up for themselves and gain confidence.
