Powderpuff Kicks Off Spirit Week

One of the traditions that many schools, along with Delone Catholic, have before homecoming is powderpuff. This is an activity where students from each grade get together and volunteer to play in a football and volleyball tournament-style game to see which grade level comes out on top. The male students who volunteer will play volleyball, while the female students will play football. The games are set up in a tournament style, as there will be rounds where the different grades will play each other, and then the winners of the first round will play each other to decide the victor.
Then, the freshmen and junior boys played. Just like the sophomore and senior games, it was interesting to watch, but in the end, the junior boys crushed the freshmen. Then, the sophomore and freshman boys played for third place. This game was a lot closer in score, and it ended with a victory for the sophomore boys.

Next, the girls faced off against each other in football games. Like the boys' game, the senior girls crushed
the sophomore girls, with their game ending 30-0.
This is what one of the sophomore players, Emily Krammer, said about the match: “The game was a disaster, but next year we will be more prepared!”
Next, the freshmen girls and the junior girls played. With a surprising turn of events, the freshmen girls beat the junior girls. Due to time constraints, the sophomore and junior girls did not play to see who would take third.
With Powderpuff coming to an end, the freshmen girls played the senior girls, and in the end, the seniors took first place after beating the freshmen. The day once again proved to be a great way to kick off spirit week.
